Help me give my students a balloon pump, balloons and sticks, book, and calendar supplies to help us celebrate our unique ethnicities and differences with our Balloons On Broadway Celebration and while doing Calendar Time.
During calendar, we discuss how we are all different and that is what makes use special. We will use the supplies for calendar in helping us build our academic vocabulary and discuss how our unique family situations enhance our classroom and world.
Celebrating students’ uniquenesses and ethnicities which includes Racial Justice and Representation, we will hold a Balloons Over Broadway Event where students can create a balloon representing their cultures and what makes them special.
We will begin this activity of Balloons Over Broadway by reading the book, Balloons Over Broadway. Then the students will be able to create their image to put on their balloon. Lastly, we will use the balloons, sticks, and pump to finish their creation and have a parade with our balloons where everyone will be able to see each other's creations.
