My students need baseballs in order to practice effectively. Students do not have balls at home and so often times they try to borrow balls from the school and our inventory is very low.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is in a rural minority community. Lots of our students have big dreams but don't have access to enough opportunities to unlock their true potential.
While our funds and resources are limited, our students potential and drive is certainly not.
Students are eager to see real-world applications of what they are learning in school that extend further than the town limits that have confined many of their parents. Many of our students strive to be first-generation college, if not high school, graduates.
My Project
Our students need ample baseballs so that we can practice effectively. We currently have to stop practice every few pitches during batting practice so that we can collect the 10 balls that we use. During warmups, student-athletes have to share baseballs in order to get practice throws in.
In order to have a successful team, we need to practice with all the required equipment, which 100% includes baseballs.
We are at a place where our team has grown and the desire to work hard is there we just need the tools so that we can succeed on the field!
