My Students

My students are very special at my school. They are special in an awesome way. They are able to walk to and from school through the inner streets of Chicago which is considered to be one of the cities with the highest murder rate. They come to school with their fears and challenges but yet persevere to learn. They show me respect, love and passion to learn each day. They are truly an inspiration to me. They continue to strive for excellence academically, emotionally and physically. My students are also making improvements in social and emotional learning as well. Their most popular sports are volleyball and basketball.

My Project

These materials will make an awesome improvement in my students' lives by instilling hope. They will learn how to look at all resources when trying to achieve a goal. In addition, these materials will help give my students an opportunity to participate in the basketball league. The scoreboard is required to record the time and points of the game. The basketballs will assist with teaching passing, shooting and pivoting drills that are required to play basketball successfully.

My students will be able to improve their school lives by giving them another incentive to get good grades and maintain respectable behavior in school.

In addition, the students will be given a safe haven during after school hours. Furthermore, they will be learning life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, compassion and dedication from participating in the sports program.
