This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine trying to learn and have fun in old stiff plastic chairs.

I teach 16 wonderful Special Needs children in grades k-2 in a low income school district.

My students disabilities including autistic, mentally retarded, attention deficit hyper disorder, deaf and hard of hearing, and Speech and Language impairment. They are all amazing individuals with lots of energy and big personalities.

My Project

I would love to purchase 16 large exercise balls for them to sit on while working at tables. Research has indicated that these balls are very beneficial for children (and adults) because the balancing required helps the core muscles and this in turn, benefits the brain (see Lance Armstrong's LIVESTRONG.COM SITE).

No more slouching, no more wiggly, and no more snoozing at desks.

Exercise balls are a great way to improve student posture and attention, when your body's engaged, your brain's engaged.
