My Students

We are standing at a crossroads in education. One way leads to higher student achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math while increasing literacy and problem-solving success. The other way leads to a stagnant situation in which students are left in the gap. Which way will we go?

The students of the rural school are bright with potential.

The students are willing to learn in the beginning, but get frustrated due to the lack of resources, relevance to everyday situations, and response to their eager questions. Students at our school need to experience science as it occurs in the real world, instead of just learning about science from a textbook. These students have the abilities, but lack the resources to meet their needs.

My Project

By having these electronic balances, students can participate in a variety on hands-on, scientific evaluations in which they design, implement, analyze and collect data, and evaluate research. These skills are a vital part of the problem-solving process, and having these balances will facilitate STEM training.

Being part of the competitive global workforce requires problem-solving abilities.

Employees are looking for students that are ahead of their peers in design, implementation, and research of ideas. Having these balances readily available will allow them to hone their skills in this area as well as allowing them to experience the more hands-on approach to science learning.
