My students need 5 balance ball chairs to help them keep active during the day.

My Students
My students come from various socio-economic, race, religion, and cultural backgrounds. They are bright-eyed and excited about learning. Many of my students consider school to be their safe place. Our school is made up of a large population of students that receive free or reduced lunch.
Our classroom fosters a love for learning through different experiences.
Many students do not have the background knowledge that you would expect a child their age to have. I try to provide students with experiences that will impact their lives not only while they are in my classroom but, that they can take with them throughout their lives.
My Project
My students have requested that we add balance ball chairs to our classroom. In their previous classrooms, they have had the opportunity to have alternative seating. Balance ball chairs will allow students to be active at least 60 minutes each day.
Students have suggested that we add the balance ball chairs because they help them focus but they are allowed to move while they learn.
Movement in the classroom is extremely important. It helps to increase the retention of knowledge while also building healthy lifestyles. My students are excited about the possibilities to add alternative seating to our classroom. They have specifically requested balance ball chairs because they are easier to sit on than the regular balance ball. Balance ball chairs will help my students to receive at least 60 minutes of active learning each day.
