This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a dual language teacher who works with Kindergarten students in a K-6 high needs urban elementary school. I am focused on teaching Literacy, Writing and Science in Spanish. For half of my students Spanish is their first language while for the other half this is their 2nd and even 3rd language that they are learning, creating a truly diverse and multilingual classroom.
My students are enthusiastic learners who come from many diverse backgrounds.
They are energetic and keep me young at heart with their smiles and hugs. They are hard-working and strive to do their best when presented with any challenge.
My Project
Kindergarten is a huge milestone for many students. For some this marks the transition from half day preschool; for others this is the first time in a school setting. Their little bodies are still in constant need of movement. They can't sit still for very long and these balance balls will provide them with much needed movement so they can then focus on their work.
Your generous donations to this project will allow us to buy much needed flexible seating for our classroom so that students keep their bodies moving while keeping their minds engaged.
This will help make the transition to Kindergarten much smoother and introduce them to a new way of learning.
