My Students

We are a Title I district in a small rural community. My students are stereotypical country kids. They work on their family land (most of them) and come to school. They wear cowboy boots and hats, they miss school when the cows are sick, and care a lot more about their ag competitions than my math class.

But they show up and they do their best.

Education is their way out and those that want out know it. We have a lot of first-generation college students, and some first-generation high school graduates.

My Project

We all know more seating options lead to students being more comfortable and therefore more focused I am trying to give some more seating options. I have paid for a table and scavanged some chairs. I of course have some old school desks. I am looking to add some balance balls to add to the options. Also helping some ADHD kiddos focus their energy while taking notes and working on projects. I have tried bigger projects to re do the whole room but they didn't make it. Now I'm trying one little step at a time. Thank you for your support.
