My Project
I’m a 6th‑grade ESOL co‑teacher working with a growing population of newcomers who are still building confidence and fluency in English. I’m seeking support to bring five versatile tools into our classroom that will transform our small‑group instruction and help every student find success:
Headphones
• Allow students to listen and repeat model sentences, read‑alouds, and fluency passages without distractions.
• Help us differentiate instruction—students can work independently at their own pace.
Dry‑Erase Boards & Markers
• Give students a low‑stakes space to practice new vocabulary, phonics patterns, and sight words during mini‑lessons.
• Let me quickly check for understanding and provide immediate feedback as we build reading stamina.
Balance Beam & Wobble Balance Beam
• Bring movement into fluency practice: students read or repeat text as they walk in place, helping to develop automaticity through kinesthetic reinforcement.
• Reduce anxiety for our most hesitant readers—movement breaks right into academic work.
By integrating these tools into targeted small‑group rotations, I can provide multisensory support that accelerates fluency, builds confidence, and makes reading practice engaging for all learners.
