My Students

I work at the best dual language elementary school. Our students have school pride that is contagious. We are a family like no other. Our school is located in an inner-city neighborhood surrounded by low-income housing.

We are a school that is academically and culturally diverse.

We pride ourselves in helping students from all ends of the academic spectrum. It is our goal to let every student know and feel they are wanted, welcomed, and needed at our school every day.

My Project

This project was inspired by my little students who wiggle and wobble all day. By providing alternative seating options in my classroom, I hope to increase engagement and allow time for movement while we learn. Research shows that students who are given alternative seating options such as stability balls, will increase engagement during instruction, increase metabolism, are motivated, and show positive behavior.

The stability ball chairs will allow my little ones to stretch, move, and exercise while working, learning, and playing.

I want them to be healthy from the inside out. If this makes a difference in how they learn, then I need these in every classroom in my school.
