My Project
My students often talk about how stressed they are with homework, college applications, and the normal pressures of being a teenager. Many of my students are part of the first generation in their families to apply to college. The need for them to unwind is obvious. A group of my students have expressed interest in starting a baking club where they can form a community of peers who have a common goal: bonding over sweets.
This project will fund an after-school baking club for students' mental health.
This club will help students unwind after a stressful week. The students have a goal to make baked goods at school, donating them to people in need with messages of kindness attached.
While it's important for students to work hard, it's just as important for them to find balance and have fun, all while learning a life skill.
