My Students

In life, we all have challenges to overcome. This group of students has taken the challenges of life and moved beyond everyone's expectation. They are looking forward to becoming more independent and self-sufficient. They have shown true grit and perseverance with all the things this world has thrown at them. Each of them has taught me what it means to be an exceptional individual and stay true to who you are. We all have a journey, something to share, and something to learn.

If I had to sum these students up in a few words, it would be this: They give more to others than they take from this world.

They are each truly exceptional individuals.

My Project

Do you remember what it was like when you were in school and took home economics? Do you remember the first meal you were able to prepare independently for yourself? These memories last a lifetime.

I serve students with severe and profound disabilities.

In today's society learning to eat healthy is a valuable asset all individuals need to obtain. They, like many other students, need to learn independence. However, with my students, it will take a lot of practice in achieving these goals. Please help me give them the skills they need to be successful in the most basic needs of independence, cooking.
