Baggy Books Bookbags

My students need 20 take home back packs.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Fraas's classroom raised $157

This project is fully funded

I am a first-grade teacher who would like to give her first grader students a special back pack to take home their daily reading books in.

My students are enrolled in a Title I school, in which at least 71% are financially in need, and a lot of my students travel from one house to another to have supervision because of family issues. Many of my students come from households where English is a second language. I would like to have my students have a special back pack so that they can take their reading books home to practice their reading skills.

These back packs will give my students a sense of responsibility and ownership. I would love to bring reading into my students' homes. Reading is a very important part of everyday life, and my students need to practice every chance that they can get. That is why I would like to have a chance for my students to use take-home backpacks. Having these back packs would help involve parents, grandparents or aunts/uncles in the students school work.

You will make it possible for my students to become better readers and the start of being a responsible student for their things. Your help will ensure that my students are able to practice at home the reading skills that they have learned in the classroom. This will also help involve my students' parents in their child's learning.
