My Students
Our students are a vibrant and diverse group of 6-8 graders in the PE program. We are a minority-majority school in a minority-majority district. Our students are on the cusp of young adulthood and are looking for positive new experiences. They are motivated and ready for new challenges.
Middle school students are excited and interested in learning, whether in an academic class or an activity-based class such as physical education.
Our students are no exception. They want to have new experiences, develop or refine skills, and grow as individuals.
My Project
Badminton is a great healthy/athletic lifetime activity. It can be played by young and seniors alike. Whether as a backyard family game or on competitive courts, badminton is a great way to keep active.
Badminton, as a part of a comprehensive middle school PE curriculum, develops positive social skills (such as cooperation and teamwork), fine and gross motor skills, and footwork.
The equipment we have is old and worn out, past the point of usefulness. With this new equipment, we can provide our students with a new teaching unit that will inspire and motivate them to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
