This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are so important to me. They are great kids who have to deal with a lot of things in their lives. They deal with things in their family and in the neighborhood that even the adults should not have to go through in their lives. Most of the students are from high poverty homes, and many are from single-parent homes.

The biggest sport in the neighborhood is soccer and the field that has taken a few years to get together only needs one more soccer back drop net.

The students are always so appreciative, and I hope they are able to experience things they will never forget. The kids are always excited to try new things, but their favorite sport will always tread back to soccer. It serves as an important outlet for our students.

My Project

The students at my school love soccer so much. So, we have been fixing up the field next to our school for years now. The field used to be just mud and now it is almost a completed soccer field that the school and the community uses. One of the biggest problems is the one side of the field always has soccer balls flying into the street. This is very dangerous and worries me because students are told thousands of times to not chase the ball and they still do.

This is where you can help because this net system will seal up the field so the students will not be chasing the ball into the street and will be completing the field.

The soccer goals were donated and they are going to look great. Now I need this netting to make the field more safe for after school hours when the students are less supervised. Please donate whatever you can and if not for this project for another project related to Physical Education and Athletics.
