My students need two cases of backpacks so that they can take care of their homework and books.

My Students
I teach in a school that is high poverty, all of our students are economically disadvantaged and eligible for free breakfast and lunch. We have a number of students who are homeless. In my classroom alone I have had over 50% of my class come and go during the school year. Many of my students are the children of deployed military personnel. Several of my students are also here in the United States for the first time, and English is not their first language.
When my sixth graders do not turn in their homework, they always say it is because they lost it on the way to school because they do not have a backpack.
The students in my sixth grade class are trying to be successful but they need help. They need backpacks.
My Project
My sixth graders are always losing their textbooks, library books, homework, and important papers that need signatures. They need inexpensive, medium sized, durable backpacks so they can transport all their things to and from school.
My students (and their families) do not have money for "frills" like backpacks and as a result, they often lose essential homework papers.
A backpack would be a dream come true for many of my children. They simply cannot afford one. Your donation to this project would make my students feel so special. They would be on the path to success with your help. Please consider helping them.
