Steam is in the air! As an educator of predominately African American students, it is my goal to encourage our youth to reach for the stars, set high expectations for themselves, and explore the fields of science and math in our everyday classroom engagements.
My hopes in creating this project is to get our students prepared for the future!
Our students are the only hope for the future which is why it is ever so important that they have all the materials and resources necessary to take on whatever the future holds. STEAM is an amazing initiative geared toward preparing our students for the future. As a result, I hope to create an environment where students are able to engage in the different math and sciences.
The design play STEM kits are a great activity for students to engage in. It allows students to get creative, work on their collaborative skills, and tap into their engineering side! An organized classroom is one of the many keys to a smooth running lesson. As a result, the donations of name plates and labels will help students independently navigate throughout the classroom during experiments. Because STEAM incorporates math, it is oh so helpful to have math posters and manipulatives present as both science and math go hand in hand. With the help of your donations of the different math manipulatives, students will be able to get a fruitful STEAM experience. Diversity and inclusion are so important in a school environment. As a result, the donations of the language posters will help my EL's to navigate throughout the classroom independently.
I truly hope to be able to provide for my students with your help!
