This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Put yousrself in the shoes of a high school student - think about trying to focus on learning, only to be distracted by something as simple—yet urgent—as the lack of a basic necessity. For many young women in our classrooms, this is a daily reality. Feminine hygiene products are not a luxury; they are a necessity. No student should have to feel embarrassed, unprepared, or miss valuable class time because they don’t have access to pads or tampons. Yet, too often, that’s exactly what happens.

Schools should be a place of learning, growth, and confidence, not a place where students feel anxious about something as fundamental as personal care.

This is why we are reaching out to you. Our classroom is in need of essential supplies, but at the top of our list are feminine hygiene products to ensure that every student has what they need to feel comfortable and supported. When students have access to these products, they can focus on what truly matters—their education.

In addition to these crucial supplies, we are also in need of:

Pencils – Every student deserves the chance to write, take notes, and participate fully in class without worrying about not having a pencil.

Pocket Folders – Keeping assignments and important documents organized can make all the difference in a student’s academic success.

Alcohol Prep Pads & Headphones – We incorporate technology into learning, and these ensure that students can engage with digital materials in a clean and safe way.

Highlighters - students can work on annotating and pulling apart texts in the classroom!

Tissue – to help keep our classroom comfortable and healthy, especially during cold and allergy seasons.
