My Students

This past school year has been one like no other. There were so many ups and downs, and there were times when teachers all shared the common feeling of not doing enough. Though COVID-19 made me originally feel as if my students would not get an adequate education, my mindset had to change drastically for the betterment of my students.

I had to learn to think positively about what my students would be able to do instead of always focusing on the negative.

Once my students, and their families, saw that I was invested in making online learning fun and engaging so that it would actually work, they became invested as well. The same thing will happen once I get back into the classroom.

Though there were a lot of challenges and setbacks with online learning, I am still standing firm on my beliefs that when my students come back into the classroom, they will thrive. Challenges will be expected and matched with the determination to get my students on track.

My students' and families' thoughts on learning are only a reflection of mine. When they understand that I am determined to work through challenges, they will be as well.

My Project

Education has been halted for a lot of students. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, students coming into kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year have either had limited preschool exposure or no exposure to preschool at all.

Some skills that they will be expected to have may not yet be evident.

This year, we have to focus on skills such as how to hold pencils, how to write, and how to properly use materials that we use every day. With these materials, my students will be able to build a strong foundation and succeed this school year.
