My Students

Our class consists of sweet, creative, and active 6 and 7 year old students who come to school excited about learning. My first graders love to move around and love when a wide variety of technology is incorporated into their daily instruction.

Each day I strive to make learning rigorous yet captivating in a positive learning environment.

I love the enthusiasm first graders bring to school and hope to create life long learners who have only positive memories from their school days.

Hands-on learning is becoming more and more important in the classroom. It’s one thing to be able to read and write about what you are learning. It’s another thing to be able to apply it.

Hurricane Michael has left a lasting impression on our community. My sweet first graders have been through so much over the past year. We are wanting to have a fun Christmas season due to the fact that last year not a normal Christmas. A large portion of them are still living in temporary housing awaiting apartments or homes to be rebuilt. My hope is that this holiday season will be a one to remember and we have the basics we need.

My Project

Having an iPad in our classroom would allow my students to work on their own learning levels. They strive to work independently, and this will allow them to work on their personal goals instead of sharing with friends that are not on their same levels. The iPads will be used in many different ways, from listening, to reading, to independently building words, practice handwriting, and writing stories. The headphones will be used to maintain a quiet environment. My kids have such a passion for learning; this will be the key to their success!

My kids deserve every opportunity to enrich themselves in technology everyday.This iPad will be used daily for many classroom opportunities.

They love practicing their handwriting, and sight words on the iPads daily during reading groups. This would be a great addition to our classroom.
