This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family, and they count on us to educate and guide them every day. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.

My Project

Imagine going to school and not having a comfortable chair to sit on, crayons, pencils, paper and other basic supplies students need when they come to school. In order to teach our wonderful students, we need basic school supplies to help make learning more enjoyable. Our students are in need of appropriate chairs to sit on when they work in the computer lab. A big part of their day involves testing and working on a computer. It would be wonderful for them to have an appropriate seating to access the computer. In order to print literacy booklets, math journals, skill builders, I need the toner and paper to make this happen. It gets very costly and with a limited budget, it would help us greatly. We also need basic supplies; glue sticks, crayons, paper and pencils for them to write and create to help assist in their learning.

Most of our students do not have access to bring school supplies to school.

Therefore they count on us to have these materials for them.

This project is my wish list to help my students have the tools to be successful this school year.

I would love to make this project happen for our students. It will bring learning and a piece of mind knowing I am providing the basic tools for my students. I appreciate your consideration for this project. Thank you for supporting these students and help make a difference in their lives.
