My Students
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. Many come from culturally diverse low-socioeconomic households and have not had experience with the world outside our small island.
Young students need movement and time socializing with friends.
Social distancing and mandates in schools and our classroom require teachers to create unique opportunities for students to build friendships and have movement during the day.
Our classroom needs more cleaning materials and creative movement opportunities that students can use at their desk. Many students haven't been in school for more than a year and need to build the stamina necessary to focus and learn while at their desks as movement within the classroom and school is limited to meet the necessary health guidelines being laid out.
My Project
Help our classroom get of to a good start with basic supplies like paper towels for hand washing, fidget bands and movement bands for chairs.
Students need movement in the classroom while learning, For our health and safety we still need to be distanced while learning.
Movement bands, fidget toys and wobbly chairs will help young children add movement to their days while learning in a distanced clean classroom. Paper towels will help students clean their areas and dry hands as we keep a sanitized classroom and a healthy environment.
Back to the basics, but not boring, is our classroom goal.
