My Students
My students are a group of highly energetic, amazing children with autism in grades 1-5. Many students with autism have difficulties in learning new information, communicating, and social interaction!
Teaching this special group of kids has been more difficult with learning being done virtually for the last year and a half.
Most of the kids in my class need small group and teacher led instruction. Learning through computer based programs are not in the best interest of my kids, but we made it work. I teach in an urban elementary school in Wisconsin with a high poverty rate.
My Project
After over a year of virtual learning, we are ALL coming BACK TO THE CLASSROOM! I can't tell you how excited we are to finally be back together. With that in mind, we want to be able to STAY in school safely.
I am asking for your help to provide some items that will help us come back to a safe learning environment.
Masks will be required for all staff and students, and many kids go through more than one mask per day! We also are looking to minimize sharing snacks, so having individually wrapped snacks would be helpful for our students.
