This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Math Interventionist and I teach a wonderful group of students at a Title I school. Over 75% of the students are Hispanic and are learning the English language. Our elementary school has the highest number of Multilingual Learners in the state of South Carolina!

Please help my students learn the Math skills they need!

Due to the language barrier and other socioeconomic factors, my students are not currently working on their grade level.. My students are not enthusiastic about learning math. It is difficult for them to learn grade level material because they lack number sense and the basic skills. My goal is to fill in those gaps to help them succeed!

The materials that have been selected for this project would enable me to provide my students with engaging learning activities! The It's a Snap Counting Center, Numbers and Counting Activity, Sequencing Numbers Puzzles, and Math Blast Games are resources that my students can use to help build Number Sense skills and have fun at the same time! The Clorox Wipes will help me to keep my learning environment clean and healthy for my scholars. The healthier they are, the more they are at school and learning. The additional materials, such as the sticky notes, bags, and behavior incentives will enable me to create an engaging learning environment for my scholars.

These materials will enable me to teach my students the skills that they need.
