My students need an environment that is welcoming and warm when they come to school. The desks we have now are not welcoming, but these tables and chairs will definitely help motivate them!
My students come from all walks of life! They are full of life and are anxious to learn even though they might need a little extra push some days. Some of them are taking care of siblings when they get home while some are simply enjoying video games. They are as diverse as diversity can get! They enjoy giving back and are the first to help each other on a daily basis. They are best motivated by stimulating activities in the classroom!
My Project
These supplies will help engage and motivate my students to come to my class each day by providing a warm and nurturing environment. I am in the process of preparing my room for next year, and I want to GO BIG! These items will provide table and chair groups that are easily moved for small groups! There are many other essential items that will provide materials for everyday activity and lessons such as: masking tape, pens, pencils, markers, sticky notes, etc. I will use the chalk board upon entry of class to inform of the days lesson, and the carpet to compliment the rest of the colors because I will also be painting in grey. In addition to the items here, I am having a friend build a stage for presentations, and will be making a large banner for the wall! I want them to be excited when they enter my classroom, and that will make a tremendous difference!
