My Students

I serve roughly 80 amazing students from all different types of backgrounds. My students are ESL students who are still trying to master and become proficient in the English language.

My students exude motivation in all that they do, a love of learning is second nature to them!

I love the differences each of them brings to my classroom. Even though there are so many obstacles each student faces, they are all so respectful and eager to learn. They are all so encouraging to each other, which brings contagious motivation to all.

My Project

Younger students need all educational resources that can help them build their foundation of reading skills. Scholastic resources have been proven to help jump start reading skills and foster a love of reading.

Using these readers will help my ESL students build their language skills by incorporating pictures, high frequency words, and academic vocabulary suited for each grade level.

Providing topics that correlate to their general education setting will enable me to front load skills and standards so that my students are fully prepared to return to their classrooms. What better way to build reading foundation skills than with a love of reading from Scholastic!
