This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a high school serving students in grades 9-12. We are in an urban neighborhood. Many of our students immigrated from another country or are the children of immigrants. Many of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school.

My students are college-bound, highly motivated, hardworking and dream of success.

They are awesome! Most are from lower socioeconomic status but have the endurance to make it to 12th grade and most aim to go to college and get a degree. They dream of becoming everything from doctors to teachers to lawyers and entrepreneurs.

My Project

Every classroom needs basic supplies to start the year with. Every year I buy my students a notebook so that they know that I care about them, their work, and organization. I would love to provide more but can't afford to. That is why I am asking for these supplies.

I want each student to have a folder so they can create portfolios of assignments.

Many students don't have pencils and erasers, so I would like to provide them for those in need. Tissues and Clorox wipes are always a good thing to have in a classroom, especially as flu season comes around.

These materials will make a big impact on the morale of the students, and make them feel welcome and important. Supplies are necessary to start the school year with, and many students can't afford them. Thanks for helping my students succeed!
