Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's that time again...back to school shopping. Do you remember how great it was to show up on the first day of school with all your new school supplies to a classroom that had books and activities for you to utilize?
My students all come from low income families and my school is located in a high needs community.
Neither can afford to supply my students with these essential resources. I teach students with moderate to severe Autism in a public school in an urban setting. Many of my students have major behavior problems and all require specialized instruction.
My Project
These basic resources are a precursor for learning. My students need these resources in order to complete their daily assignments in all academic areas. For instance, my students need notebooks and paper to complete daily assignments in reading, spelling, and math; they need glue, tape, markers, and play-doh to participate in hands-on science and art activities. Kleenex are always needed in classrooms to help keep all of the kids healthy and ready to learn!
I have a fantastic class of students with Autism.
They are hard workers and eager to learn new things! Your help can provide my students with these essential resources, and can help them accomplish their academic goals!
