I work in a Title I school where our students have a ton of heart and drive. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and we push them to be international learners with a growth mindset. Getting to learn from different perspectives allows our students to not only grow academically, but socially as well.
I am proud to say that we have a set of students who are problem solvers and don't back down from challenges.
We are always looking for ways to improve, whether that is adding resources to our classroom - or trying things a new way!
My Project
These materials will be critical for my students upon our return to school. Reading comprehension games and headphones will help us achieve our goals, and prepare my fourth graders for their next challenge.
Whether we return to a traditional classroom in a month or four months, when we get into the classroom it is imperative that we hit the ground running.
The Lakeshore games will help to rebuild and maintain comprehension skills that we worked hard on all year. Making this skill practice a game will help with our transition back into the traditional classroom. Additionally, many of our students do not have a personal set of headphones. By having a class set we open up opportunities to use all the knowledge we have gained during our remote learning journey. Also, by having a higher number of headphones in the class set, we can contribute to social distancing standards that will surely be ongoing by having one set for each class (allowing me to disinfect each day).
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school, we are so grateful!
