My students span the socioeconomic levels, though many are below middle-class. We have a fast-growing ESL population. This is a large school with a transient population, set in a tourist town that is part of a county-wide school district.
They range in levels from special education to gifted and talented.
These students have different needs based on their socioeconomic and educational levels. In science, I require unit projects where they are asked to bring in supplies and they often cannot afford those basic supplies.
My Project
The science curriculum can be amazing for middle schoolers. However, it can sometimes be expensive. This project is aiding in the basic supplies needed for science labs, activities, and experiments.
Basic science supplies can make a world of difference for students and teachers.
There were so many times this school year that I wanted to do an activity but did not have the basic supplies needed to complete it. With Expo markers and whiteboards, my students will be able to complete experiments and problems together.
Providing the basic supplies in this project would ensure a completion of at least five-six science-based activities and projects. Your help in the matter is immensely appreciated by myself and my students!
