My Students

My students are a class of 30 Gifted and Talented Second graders. Many of my students come from low-income families and speak second or third languages. They are motivated, inquisitive, and a very hard working group of kids.

We are entering a very uncertain school year.

We will be required to teach in person, but the children will have to alternate between in-person and online learning.

My Project

We will be learning in school this year. With the bulletin board paper and decorations, I want to create a warm and welcoming environment where the children can feel at home during this difficult time. Having a safe place to come to that is child-friendly is imperative for young students.

With the book series "Yasmin," I plan on adding it to my "Series Book Club" unit, where children read books from different series.

Last year, I did not have these books, and numerous students in my class were requesting them. I want to add them to my classroom library due to student interest.
