Back-To-School Necessities- Getting Us Ready To Learn!
My students need back to school necessities (pens, markers, staples, scissors, tape, command strips, a clock, binders, storage, and chairs) to make sure their new classroom is set-up so that they are ready to learn!
I teach in an awesome school system with so much potential. We have a mixture of students that live in the suburbs and open-enrollment students from the city. Students come ready to learn; however, they are not always provided with the resources to work to their full potential, both at their homes and at our school due to lack of funding.
I have had the pleasure to house and educate the full-inclusion classroom that is filled with students with and without disabilities for two years now.
I co-teach with a special education teacher. Together we try to create differentiated, fun lessons that engage all students at all ability levels. We try to create an atmosphere that accepts student differences and embraces each and every one of their skill levels.
All of the students in our second grade come from diverse backgrounds and many different ability levels. As a team, we try to provide them with multi-modal learning opportunities to make sure we reach every student's needs.
My Project
Setting up a classroom that is warm and inviting for a new class of students is one of my favorite things to do at the end of each summer. I try to create an atmosphere that is warm, inviting, and easy to learn in so that my second graders can have a productive, fun experience learning in my classroom.
With that said, I need pens, markers, a stapler (with staplers and remover), a tape dispenser (with tape), scissors, a pen holder, and a wall calendar to be able to make sure I can create a classroom that is suitable and organized for second grade students to learn in.
The students will benefit from the pens and markers as I will be able to label their names on different items throughout the room as well as use them when they start school (the toothbrush holder listed will hold the pens). I will use the tape, scissors, command strips, and staples as I am hanging posters up and decorating bulletin boards. The storage containers will help organize their school supplies they bring in. The binder, folder, and desk organizer will help organize their beginning of the year documents.
In addition to the above listed supplies, I have a computer table that needs chairs. I have listed three mesh mobile computer chairs for students who are furthering their education through technology on their Chromebooks. I also have listed a clock for the students to not only be able to keep track of the time with, but also be able to practice telling time on.
