Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very unique. They bring incredible stories, wisdom, and experience to the classroom and create an enriching learning environment for all. I am fortunate enough to be "looping up" with my 7th grade students from last year on to 8th grade!
My students made so much growth in reading and writing last year and using those skills to make their voices heard in the world.
I am eager to see them grow even more over the next year.
My Project
One of the biggest 'teacher school supply mysteries' has been, "where did all of the crayons go?". We could start the school year with a full box of crayons and by June we are using small pieces found at the bottom of the box. When over 150 students are sharing the same classroom supplies for 180 days, it can be challenging to maintain quantities going from year to year.
This project will provide my students with a fresh start for September!
Students always need pens, pencils, crayons, paper, scissors and other basic school supplies when we are working on projects during class or collaborating with peers on a writing assignment. It is incredibly important to me that my students feel respected and valued at school, and having adequate supplies is one way I can show them that.
