It is the start to the new year so it is time to replenish some resources! My lovely students made great use of the materials provided last year, but they need to be restocked.
I am asking for essential materials that students will use on a daily basis!
My students need:
Lead, mechanical pencils, and lead - Students are often in need of a writing utensil and they are not all created equal. All of these are options that do not need to be sharpened when they are first given to the student.
Tissues - As tissues are not provided by my school, most classrooms do not have them. Students recognize they are important and valued when they have what they need to be comfortable.
Easel pads - These are a hard resource to come by due to price. I use these to make vocabulary lists as a class as the words come up organically.
Colorful bins - These will be used to establish a routine where students self-assess their formative assessments by putting them in the bin assigned to the score they would give the assignment.
Pencil pouches - These will be given to students when they need them. When students are lacking school supplies, a pencil pouch goes a long way in making sure they stay organized and bring a pencil to class.
Folders and shipping labels - These will be used to create student work portfolios! I print onto the labels and these are placed on the front of folders and then personalized by students. Students will gather evidence and reflect on their work in these folders!
