Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students live in a low income community where the essential tools such as pencils, crayons, and glue are not available items in their home to help them complete homework assignments. Many times my students have told me that they didn't complete their homework because they didn't have a pencil.

The essential tools in this Back to School starter pack allow my students to feel prepared to start the school year.

The pencil case will keep their crayons, scissors, and glue in a safe place to store at home. I am requesting an extra set of items to replenish in the middle of the year if students lose or break the items they receive at the start of the school year.

This starter pack will also include math manipulatives to help with basic counting within twenty. My students will be more engaged and able to make sense of abstract ideas if they have counting cubes to help them add and subtract.
