This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our New York City school is a Title 1 school, where most of our students come from low-income families. Many of our students are new immigrants to the United States, driven by the hope of a better future. They work tirelessly, both in and out of the classroom, to achieve their dreams and build a brighter life. However, due to financial challenges, basic school supplies are often out of reach for our families, as they prioritize meeting NYC rent and putting food on the table. As September approaches, while teachers across the country prepare their classrooms for the new school year, our students face the additional challenge of lacking essential supplies.
