Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an amazing group of fifth graders. My students show up every day with a passion and drive to learn. They love to read and are excellent mathematicians!

Their enthusiasm about school and learning inspires me to be the best teacher I can be.

They are a unique group of students with individual needs and talents that I try to address on a daily basis. I am lucky to be able to work with such creative, ambitious, and hard-working students!

My Project

In the beginning of the school year students bring their brand-new school supplies and are ready to learn. Unfortunately, our students are working so hard that by the middle of the year all of those brand-new supplies have been used up and need to be replenished.

We need things such highlighters, magnetic dry-erase erasers, and personal whiteboards.

In our class, students use personal boards to write out their thinking while solving word problems and using reusable reading graphic organizers. These personal boards are written on using dry erase markers. They are better than bulky whiteboards because they fit in students' folders and can be used at home and at school.
