My students need basic school supplies. The items on this list will go directly into the hands of my students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students constantly defy society's expectations of them. Most of them go home every day to stressful situations and poverty. But when they come to school, they are filled with joy. They love to laugh, participate in lessons, and grow as students.
These kids stay engaged in learning, even with all the struggles they are facing outside of school.
Every day I am amazed by their persistent nature. I truly believe each of them can do anything they set their mind to- I am just here to help them realize that.
My Project
While some of my students come to school with school supplies, most do not. I was very blessed in my first two years of teaching, as a church provided a plethora of school supplies to every student. Last year I realized how expensive it was for me to cover this cost. I ended up using all of my state money and then some.
I'm hoping that the cost of my students' basic school supplies can be covered, so that any money from the state can be used on updating my classroom library.
I'm asking for things like composition notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, scissors, and dry erase markers for my students.
These are supplies that are used in every subject throughout the day. Students need to be able to interact with the lessons, whether that is making interactive notebooks or answering questions on dry erase boards.
The other supplies on my project are items that can be found on any back to school list. As a kid, I remember lugging my bag of supplies in with my on the first day of school. Except, at my school, kids are lucky if they come with a bookbag and a full belly.
Having this project completed would be such a blessing for both me and my students.
