This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The resources requested for our Carnival-Themed Back to School Bash will help create a joyful, welcoming start to the school year for my students—many of whom come from underfunded communities and attend a Title I school. Due to severe budget cuts, we’re at risk of not having any kind of back-to-school celebration this year or the necessary supplies to run a school. Without outside support, this important event simply won’t happen.

Students will receive key supplies to start the school year at this event.

With these donations, Admin can use the minimal funds we do have to attend to supplies needed for the school year moving forward.

The items in this project—such as carnival games, decorations, small prizes, and snacks—will turn our school into a vibrant and exciting place on day one. These resources will help students feel excited to return to school, encourage positive attitudes about learning, and build a sense of community from the very beginning.

For children who may face instability or hardship outside of school, events like this provide something to look forward to. A fun, inclusive environment on the first day can set the tone for the entire year, boosting morale and making school feel like a place where they belong.

Each item—whether it’s a bean bag toss game, a colorful banner, or a bag of popcorn—helps create memories, smiles, and a much-needed sense of normalcy and celebration. When students feel supported and valued, they are more likely to stay engaged, show up, and succeed.
