This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a title one elementary school. I am a dual language teacher in a dual immersion (one-way) program. I can have up to 62 kids. Our district is currently planning on a full return to school for the 2021-22 school year.

We have a great community where we continually encourage being bilingual.

I was teaching first grade and will be going back to Kindergarten.

My Project

After doing a full year of distant learning it looks like we're heading for a full return to school for the 2021-22 school year. While excited and happy to see my kindergartners in person I need them to have the basic school supplies, such as pencils, erasers and glue to have a great head start for the school year.

After such an overwhelming school year, providing school supplies to my kindergartners will be one less thing their families will have to worry about.

Since we will be following the current CDC guideliness our students will not be allowed to share their school supplies. Therefore, they need to have their own organized supplies at their desks instead of my usual community group bins.
