Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are an inclusion kindergarten class with a mix of both general and special education students. Being that this is the first educational experience for the majority of our little learners, we strive to make school a fun, accepting, and healthy place for everyone. We are requesting a multitude of hygienic and sanitation supplies, including tissues, hand soap, Lysol wipes, and sanitizer. With these supplies, we hope to instill hygienic habits within our students and keep them healthy so they come to school consistently. We are also requesting several items to increase the engagement and accessibility for our diverse learners. Among those items are a tabletop easel as well as a standard easel.

These would greatly benefit our classroom because we will be better equipped to accommodate their preferences for learning.

Not all kids can handle whole-class learning, so the tabletop easel will be used to support small group learning as well as strengthening hand muscles by enabling them to practice letter formation on a vertical surface. The tabletop magnetic easels will be utilized for mini anchor charts at eye level at their seats. I’m also super excited to introduce a sensory tent for my calming space because I believe it will help my autistic students self-regulate during times of high stress.
