My Students

I work at Hawaiʻiʻs newest public charter school focused on leadership and identity development. Our school services 60% Native Hawaiian students and a fully inclusive school environment (all students with IEPs in general education classes).

Our students are learning in a new environment - a space that encourages their curiosity enables radical love and encourages laughter.

My Project

These materials will help my students create posters and original works of art in the Creative Media and Performance class at DreamHouse ʻEwa Beach.

Throughout the entire semester, our student leaders will use visual arts to bring awareness, advocate, and celebrate other cultures, Native Hawaiian rights, and illustrate our ideas and thoughts for the future.

These supplies will not only give students the tools to be successful but also help them build a foundation on how to use basic supplies to transform a space and place. Together, letʻs build their confidence to use their student voice through art.
