My Students

I teach a group of eager and very active first-grade students whose needs range from talented and gifted, to students who need intensive interventions to be successful in school. A typical day in our first-grade classroom involves a lot of activity. The students are engaged in learning activities that get them moving, talking to their classmates, and asking great questions. You will not see a lot of worksheets in our classroom.

My students are learning through hands-on experiences and movement.

Hands-on learning is becoming more and more important in the classroom. It’s one thing to be able to read and write about what you are learning. It’s another thing to be able to apply it.

Hurricane Michael has left a lasting impression on our community. My sweet first graders have been through so much over the past year.

My Project

We want to come back to school in January and start fresh. This will allow us to become responsible and have a clean slate for the new year. I am requesting basics such as crayons, markers, erasers, glue and scissors.

Over the past few months we have gone through a lot of supplies.

We need to come into the new school year with intentions. The students will be ready to learn responsibility and respect their new school supplies.
