This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a title one elementary school. I teach in a dual language immersion (one-way) program. I can have up to 62 kids and we are starting the school year with distant learning.

We have a great community where we continually encourage being bilingual.

Our students have access to chrome books for online learning. But our parents have requested paper packets so the kids can also work with their fine motor skills in writing instead of being on a computer all day.

My Project

I'm asking for paper. I teach in a dual language one way immersion school. I teach 62 kids. My student's parents have access to chrome books for the distant learning. But they have requested paper packets for their kids because they don't want their kids online all day. With paper I will make journals and print a variety of worksheets that can help promote their fine motor skills through writing and drawings.

Learning remotely is not the same as in school learning.

By doing everything online our younger students will take longer to develop their fine motor skills. Especially their penmanship skills.
