Help me give my students basic school supplies. They need crayons, markers, scissors, paint, glue and construction paper. Families should not have to worry about school supplies needed to help their child learn from home.

My Students

In New York City all schools were closed in mid-march. My students, the youngest learners attend full day pre-K. Now they are trying to learn at home without many essential things such as paper, crayons, markers scissors, glue, etc. My students need basic supplies so they can learn at home.

My Project

I have twenty students in my class. My hope is to give them each basic school supplies. In pre-k most of our learning is done by doing. We play to learn about things and use basic school materials such as paper, glue, scissors, markers and pencils to create artwork, to draw pictures and to practice writing our names, numbers and letters. These materials also help them develop their fine and gross motor skills.

Many of my students come from low income families and have multiple children.

Families should not have worry that their child isn't learning because the don't have basic supplies at home or that they have used up schools supplies they had. They should not feel obligated to buy school supplies or replenish supplies during a crisis. My students need basic supplies to learn from home.
