Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are curious, outgoing, and full of life. They enjoy learning new things and getting their hands dirty. However, most are living in poverty and a violence-stricken neighborhood. The everyday struggles that my students endure, is motivation enough to do all I can to help make their classroom experience a fun, exciting, and a safe journey.
Our school works collaboratively to create a nurturing community where our children feel safe and important.
I try my best to create a classroom that fosters curiosity, adventure, and growing. I hope to bring technology into the classroom and allow them to explore the endless possibilities that await them in the world.
My Project
Our classroom is constantly using a variety of materials. We really could use some basic essentials to help us with our everyday lessons. This includes; setting up a research center, presentation corner, and organizing our written plans.
Our students are always finding creative ways to show what they know.
However, we often lack some basic materials to allow for that to happen. Learners love to display their work in a unique and colorful way. Being able to use colorful pens, liquid chalk, and colorful paper would make this possible. My students also love to present information to the class. Having a stool would allow for them to be comfortable, while taking charge and leading a lesson!
