My Students

Our students are high achievers who love to engage in discussion about science and the connections to the real world. We are located on the south side of Chicago and engaging with the environment is not always easy.

My students love to ask questions and often ask insightful ones that require some research outside of our curriculum.

They love to engage with technology, posting to our Google Classroom page, creating innovative digital products, and finding ways to research and explain their ideas.

They yearn to learn more and expand their worldview. Experiencing natural and built environments outside of our urban neighborhoods allows them to see new opportunities, problems, solutions, and careers!

My Project

My students need items that will set our classroom up for success this year!

Chart paper and Post-its are necessary for my students to be able to share their thinking and engage in peer review.

Being able to see and give feedback on student progress is important for our classroom community to grow. Storage bins will be used to organize supplies on classroom shelves. Other basic items, like tape, staplers, scissors, Kleenex, etc. help our classroom function throughout the year.

Small puzzles will help remind students of the big picture, as my AP Research students work to find a gap in the research, i.e. a missing puzzle piece. Being in a classroom that has supplies helps students know that they are valued.
