Help me give my students the basic materials they need to succeed. I want to make sure that my students have the tools that will support their learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of my students come from low-income families in the city of Watts, Los Angeles, California. Many students come from emotional trauma and face other challenges on a daily basis, yet they continue to come to school ready to learn. My students are a diverse group of caring, knowledgeable children who are excited to finally be back in the classroom!
My Project
All of the students in my classroom should be provided with the basic materials that they need to succeed; however, that is not always the case as we only receive one set per class and we quickly run out of the materials. With these materials, my students will be have access to the tools that they need to have a successful school year. Materials such as paper, scissors, glue, whiteboard markers, pencils, eraser, crayons, and books with help equip my students for success. Furthermore, my students love reading and learning about animals and the guided readers will allow me to continue to build my readers' knowledge about animals while also helping me create literate scholars ready to become tomorrow's leaders.
