I believe that supplying students with the necessary materials for success helps to remove learning barriers and provides a more even playing field where students can learn, grow, and see themselves as scientists.
With the materials in this project, my classroom will be filled once again with student-friendly and student-requested materials to eliminate barriers and provide equitable access to education.
Providing pens, pencils, tissues, and index cards is just part of what I try to do in my classroom. Why? I try to set up a classroom environment where there are no excuses, and no barriers. School supplies are provided without requiring collateral or special procedures. This helps to create a safe environment and my students display security, calm, and the willingness to take risks. I have the pleasure of watching them grow and allowing them to teach me.
