Every day, I have the privilege of being able to see two dozen smiling students, eager and ready to learn. I teach in an urban school with students from a wide range of backgrounds. This year, we are teaching and learning 100% remotely for at least the first semester, which makes establishing strong connections even more critical.
Each day, we spend our hours together exploring new worlds in books, writing gripping stories, and solving math problems.
My students are truly incredible. Despite the challenges that exist in our world today, and the difficulties that remote learning can create, my students work hard and truly strive to be the best they can be.
My Project
During remote learning, students are engaging in reading, writing, and math lessons, just as they would in class. Normally, we have tools including tape, felt-tip pens, and dry erase markers that students can access and borrow in the classroom. However, students need these same basic tools at home.
This project will provide students with the basic tools they need for success in remote learning.
Each child will receive a composition book for writing, as well as black and color felt-tip pens for writing, revision, and editing. Students will be able to use their whiteboards with fresh dry erase markers, and they will be able to revise their work and create craft projects with rolls of clear tape. These simple supplies can help transform our virtual classroom experience. Thank you so much for your support!
